Whats the universe expanding into???? Wouldn't it be funny if scientists got it all backwards? As in, the Universe isn't expanding, we're all shrinking! It just looks like the Universe is expanding because all the galaxies are shrinking and becoming tinier. Shrinking makes far-away galaxies look farther away and makes the appearance of an expanding space. A red-shift would still happen, as other parts of the Universe shrink away from each other. Soon, we'll all blink out of existence (soon in galactic terms).

But since the universe apparently has a finite age, est at about 13.7 billion years, what would have been the "original" size of the galaxies in that case? And where would they have come from?
