So we're not all going to die from the yellowstone supervolcano? Whatever the source of the heat, the volcanic activity along the trail is especially powerful because of the type of rock that makes up the magma there, namely continental/granitic rock. This type of magma is very thick and viscous, and so traps more explosive gases which then build up leading to the historic super erruptions there.

There is no doubt that current Yellowstone location has had 3 supervolcano eruptions.
