GMU student gets 3 years in prison for selling LSD to frat brother who fell, died

WASHINGTON — A George Mason University student will effectively serve three years in prison for selling LSD to a fraternity brother who died from falling out a fifth-floor window.

Alejandro Porrata admitted selling LSD to 19-year-old Tristan Medina in September. Three days after the sale, Medina ran and crashed through a dorm building window on the Fairfax, Virginia, campus. Porrata faced a charge of distribution of a controlled drug.

“You are a drug dealer,” a judge told Porrata, according to WTOP’s news partners at NBC Washington. “You did a very stupid thing, and as a result, your family is suffering, the Medina family is suffering, and you will suffer as well.”

Porrata received a 10-year sentence, with seven of those years suspended. He also must serve 100 hours of community service.

Both Porrata and Medina were members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Yeah that's the problem with most mind-altering drugs.
Alcohol was involved in most of my bad decisions.
Thank God, AA and a good friend that I haven't had that problem for over 20 years.
I'm in a good place now that I could never have attained if I'd continued along the old path.

Of course it is, it would be foolish for the govt. to ban it considering it brings in over $9.9 billion in taxes from over $223 billion in annual sales.

So the huge number of deaths caused by those alcohol dealers is A-OK, no death penalty for them, simply because they have a license? Right? But someone selling pot for instance, should get the death penalty?

So it’s okay to bring illegal hard drugs across the border. Give to little kids and get them hooked.. That is why you need the death penalty for illegal drugs and dealers who sell this junk!

In the sixties you could take LSD under the care of a physician. Lot of Trippers became Christian after doing so.

Can you name me a Democrat who like the Death Penalty. I don’t know what you mean I clarified what I think who should get the death Penalty and you keep trying to move the goal post. Do I think Doctors that over prescribe deadly drugs get the death penalty. No I don’t consider them drug dealers, but they should lose their license and go to jail. Drug dealers hang out near schools trying to get kids hooked. Any illegal drug pushed by pushers should get the death penalty. If drug dealer deals in marijuana and dangerous illegal drugs then yes they should get the death penalty. Is that clear. If it is a legal drug then it is okay.. Tavern owners get cited all the time for serving to many drinks to someone who is already drunk..
