“WTH is this all about???????”

It’s about people, including some Freepers unfortunately, that don’t want to deal with the real world and want to escape to virtual ones inside some computer screen.

They probably couldn’t tell you who Ben Franklin was or who fought in their grandfathers’ World War II, but they are experts in computer games.

They probably never went outside to play when they were growing up, which in retrospect, they apparently never have.

Wow. Generalize much? I play about 15 hours weekly, hunt during the season, fish a few times a month, shoot competitively, am married with a decent job, built my own house, and actually have impeccable history. Top of my class all through school in that and math, actually.

Go troll somewhere else.

Bill, you sound like a liberal trying to put everyone in a box. FYI, freepers who “hide behind” computer screens are some of the most intelligent people on this site. We’re quite aware who our founding fathers were, and btw- my grandfather fought under 12th armored div which was 3rd army under Patton for the later half of the war. My grandfather was wounded at the battle of Herrlisheim which you’ve probably never even heard of ;-)

That’s very stereotypical of you.

Performing an activity as a means to wind down from the stresses of work or whatever, doesn’t make it an escape from reality. Yes games can be a distraction, but so can any other hobby or activity. It doesn’t mean it is an escape from reality.

General Franklin led the charge at the Battle of Dee Day when the Union beat the Confederates in 1943.
