You speak dog better than you think you do. You may not be fluent; that would require actually being a dog. But if you went to live in a dogs-only world, youd be pretty good at understanding what theyre saying. You can tell a nervous yip from a menacing growl, a bark that says hello from a bark that says get lost. You can read the body language that says happy, that says sad, that says tired, that says scared, that says Please, please, please play with me right now!

I agree! There is no other creature on earth that loves us as unconditionally as a dog does. Not even people.
What a gift! What a blessing dogs are. Life is definitely better with dogs.
After a stretch of Job time and then time helping mom, I somehow ended up being a hermit for these last few years, but thanks to a couple of spaniels I never sleep alone.
Fwiw, in the game of life, a pair of springers beats a full house of lonely every time.
Our 85 lb Lab likes his hedge hog, empty water bottles and of course tennis balls.
Our 5 cats and 2 dogs love us unconditionally. Ok, make that 4 of the 5 cats. Surprisingly, the cats are more social and come tell me everything that’s been going on several times a day. They bring me trophies, live wiggly trophies, whether I want them or not. If not, they’ll put them in daddy’s shoes for safe keeping for him. And they’re so very happy about everything. They make me laugh.
One dog is old, blind, deaf and confused. The cats worry over her constantly. They tell me when she wants to come in and then love all over her when she does. They’ll even nudge her in the right direction.
Yeah? Well I’m happy for you. Me, I get no respect. Last night my cat said he didn’t want to be called a cat anymore. Said from now on he wanted to known as a “Feline-American’’. Geesh!
Oh yeah. Nothing personal, I’m just hungry is how they look at it. The wife and I have seven cats.(hey, she loves the things, what can I say?) I know for a fact if we hit the floor they’ll be chowing down on us for weeks.
I truly believe that dogs are the true Guardian Angels we have always been told about.
Aw, he cares enough to want to be respected by you!
I dont have dogs but I have pets on the same intelligence level and interaction level as dogs. They are all family, non human family, but family. Anyone trying to harm or take them would not survive.
Awww. Thanks!
Yeah, sure he does. I get no respect I tell ya! I told my doctor “Hey Doc, every morning I wake and look in the mirror I get sick. What’s the matter with me?”’ He said “I dunno. But your eye sights perfect’’.
Ha ha.
And your little love bug is probably patient with your morning hairballs...
Twain remarked that Heaven runs on favor not merit, otherwise your dog would get in and you wouldn’t.
LOL! Does that ever describe my #2 grandson. Of course, until I worked at it, I was one of those who got ignored.
Who was it that said “If dogs don’t go to heaven, I want to go where they go”?
I don't know, but I wouldn't mind visiting my Golden Boy 'DustyJo' again.
I was able to get this last good picture of him about an hour before his and my last trip to the vet. I had over ten years with him, fighting epilepsy and finally a cancer that took his ability to stand or walk. He was 120 lbs of pure patience and love with his family. They say it's silly to humanize them, but some you just cannot help yourself.
Mydog is the best dog in the world.
Don’t know but I second that.
No. The working type dogs have a huge My Mal easily has over 100 words she understands. If you don’t believe that, just watch when I say ‘rabbit’ or ‘bad guy’?
My Kuvasz loves broccoli, of all things. I grow some while it’s cool and save the stems for him.
