All seriousness aside...a little Steve Allen shtick there...I would like to know that, too. How did they ramp up enough BTU to smelt iron ore? That’s some prodigious temperature needed. What....1000 BC?

The fuel used is coke which produces very high temperatures (6,000 F?).
