Sounds as if he was C-shift-guard outside Bolton’s room. Exposure risk for PERSEC was very low. Bad guy would have little chance to get close to him. If this were nefarious, it would smell of an “inside” job.
Co-workers (SAiC) notice he’s asleep and go attempt to wake him. Dead.
I’m comfortable with the “stroke” explanation.
