"Well", he said (shaking a half pound of dirt out of his shirt)....
The Mir mine also called the Mirny mine, is an open pit diamond mine located in Mirny, Sakha Republic, in the Siberian region of eastern Russia. The mine is >525 meters (1,722 ft) deep (4th in the world) and has a diameter of 1,200 m (3,900 ft),[1] and is one of the largest excavated holes in the world
There's other information including the Open Pit mine was closed in 2001, but tunnel mining has continued on the same site until the present with plans to continue until approx 2030.
There are other open pit mines producing gold, silver, copper and diamonds (plus platinum although couldn't find specific locations where that was recovered) scattered all over the area, including near the origination of the Cash Plane.
Oh yeah. It definitely IS NOT the Brigham Pit.

"Many people around the world heard the word "MIR" This was the name of the Soviet and later Russian space station. But what does it mean?
In the modern Russian language the word MIR has two different meanings. It can be translated as 'peace' or 'world". Before the Revolution this word also denoted to "society". A popular Russian name Vladimir means "The one who owns the world" (it comes from two Russian words: 'vladet' - 'to possess' and 'mir' - 'the world'.
There have been arguments about the name of the novel 'War and Peace' by Leo Tolstoy. Did Tolstoy really mean 'war and peace' and not 'war and the world'? In fact before the 1918 reforms of the Russian alphabet these words were written in a different way. Thus Tolstoy most probably meant 'peace'. But there were some editions where the title was written as 'the war and the society/world'. Was it a misprint? Some of the philologist believe that Tolstoy deliberately named his novel in such a way that it could have several meanings."

That is quite an operation there! Wonder why they were using such poorly maintained planes so that their diamond cargoes would be at such risk. And you would think they could afford to upgrade their cargo fleet. Strange thing all the way around.
I was thinking of a radical activist training session I learned about in 2004. One of their goals was to take over the media. I would say they have been quite successful. We should check the tentacles of affiliated with this. https://socialismconference.org/
I would dig deeper but I am up to my elbows in a couple of cases of fresh peaches that are starting to go south on me. Peach Ice Cream is almost done and I am off to find another Peachy recipe.
