Still very odd, if your friend saw things correctly. Surely, though, there could be incident reports required to be filed perhaps, although I have no idea what those might be or how to find them.

a genuine stealth/disguised flight and good guys (fighter plane) was taking care of biz?
We can't be sure whether it was an airliner or military jet, nor that it was even a US aircraft.
