So this house explosion deal is horse $hit. No way it was an accident...and I’m posting semi-blind here so this conclusion may have already been nailed here.
For that much damage...for that house to be spewed over hell’s half acre, it would have to be filled to the brim with NG. The mercaptan scent additive is human detectible (nose) at microscopic parts per million thus its effectiveness.
The victims were already at or on their way to assuming room temp when this house got scattered...blunt force trauma to them, and then blunt force trauma to a gas range flex connector. Ignition source? Set the thermostat on heat and the trigger-on temp once the place has filled and ambient reaches the set point of 74F.
But then you’ve got a witness living there about to testify about the Clintonian Dark Force so QED.
I’ve been keenly interested in this one. My instinct says you’re right, the thoroughness of the devastation was insane. I’ve seen plenty of pics of natural gas explosions and nothing like that. Usually these happen after a crew has been working in the area or the homeowner did something stupid, etc. Whenever a NG boom goes off I always post it on my FB page with “safe efficient natural gas”. I hate it, will never use it, have propane, will gladly pay more.
My thoughts as well. Surely the amount of gas required to do that much damage would have an overwhelming scent, unless something other than gas was used. And if it was something other than gas,it wasn’t an accident.
