Okay, now I feel like a real dope. I wanted to learn more about the “Presidential Alert”, so I went to my go-to tech education source, i.e., Youtube.

The guy in the video explaining how to disable the Amber Alert shows the pop-up menu that has “Presidential Alert” on it. He explains that it cannot be disabled. Well, this tutorial was posted in February of 2015!

Oh, well, so much for my “discovery”.....

I just checked my iphone - there is a setting for ‘government alerts’ that I can turn on/off...I left mine on, of course...
