If the article is correct, they were the victims of (globalist) Democrat antisemitism before being killed by (national) socialist antisemitism.

Good point, and that may be a reputation that is a barrier to modern conservatives — even if not the bigots of old, they don’t have a good explanation why. The bible is the only way out of the conundrum.

Wow. So—AUTHENTIC anti-Semitic DEMOCRATS prevented Jews from immigrating.

In the 1930’s.

And this propaganda is being “reported” now . . . why?

[The bible is the only way out of the conundrum.]

And by that, I mean it can also point out where the Democrat “conservatives” (meaning to conserve bigotry) went wrong.

Make no mistake, those who would emerge from the follies that spotted earlier America have a straight and narrow to tread.

Does this cause one to no longer wonder why a huge percentage of democrats embrace socialism ? My thought is yes

It seems they want to pin every death, everywhere, ultimately on the US.

This is getting tiresome.

100% guaranteed this article is fake news and they’re just making random s*** up. The leftist groups in Europe routinely use the holocaust as a club to support bringing in millions of “migrants.”

Do you get the oh-so-subtle “hidden” narrative? Restrictive immigration policies — you know, like the ones Donald Trump espouses — were responsible for the death of sweet, lovable Anne Frank.

There is no memory the communists won’t turn into a tool.

Right before Diary of Anne Frank was about to go off copyright they tried to pull a fast one;

They suddenly claimed that since Anne Frank’s DAD had survived the war and had ALSO contributed a wee little bit of the writing, just a tiny bit, mind you, well, he’s a CO-author, see..?

And $o the book would have to $TAY on copyright.

My, my, how about that, huh..?

A careful reading of the article indicates the Franks’ legal application was subject to a careful vetting process and unfortunately, his records were all destroyed by German bombing of the US Consulate in the Netherlands.

Of course globalists are trying to shame the USA in this article, but I see no guilt whatsoever. Otto Frank himself mentioned the best option was the United States.

What convenient timing for this discovery about a figure whose life has been studied and scrutinized about as much as anybody who has lived over the past century.

Released documents have shown Democrat FDR personally hated the Jews and didn't want them to be admitted into the USA as refugees prior to the outbreak of WWII.

He knew what NAZI Germany was doing and how horrendously they were treating the Jews because William Dodd, the US Ambassador, that FDR had personally chosen and sent to Berlin (1933 - 1937), along with his family bore witness to their ever increasing plight and persecution first hand and repeatedly reported his findings to FDR and begged him to put pressure on NAZI Germany, and to allow Jewish refugees to be admitted to the United States... FDR did nothing to ease their suffering!

Instead FDR and his administration castigated the U.S. Ambassador to Berlin for bringing the issue up in reports and for asking the President to intervene.

Because of his position concerning the Jews eventually it became too dangerous for Ambassador Dodd and his family to remain in Berlin. That, coupled with the reality of the staunch opposition he received from FDR and his administration concerning the fearful plight of the Jews led the Ambassador to Berlin to return to the United States.

Erik Larson wrote a historically accurate account of Ambassador Dodd's service in Berlin entitled:

"In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin."

The book, cites multitudes of their first hand accounts and source documents and verifies what I have stated above.

Simply put; FDR knew what was happening to the Jews, and did nothing.

I wouldn’t spend a lot of breath defending FDR. He knowingly sent jews back to the Nazis. Its Democrat history. Let Democrats defend it.

The family of Anne Frank, the world famous Jewish diarist who died in the Holocaust, attempted to immigrate to the United States and later also to Cuba, according to research, but their efforts were thwarted by America's restrictive immigration policy and the outbreak of the Second World War.

Funny how this is coming out now when the US and Europe are dealing with refugees, 'migrants', and 'immigrants' illegally entering the US and Europe.

I guess we now have to save every Anne Frank and family.

Living in Holland maybe they didn’t get the warning as soon as those in Germany, about half of whom got away.

Keep in mind the times. The U.S. at that time had a very restrictive Policy, one we had from about 1920 to 1965. The Jewish population in Europe were looking to go anywhere at a certain point then and there were just limited options.

Even England was not taking in anyone and everyone. The only other option was Palestine and it was under British control then and immigration to it was very controlled also.

So the bottom line was there were few places the Jews could immigrate to to get away from the Nazi’s in Europe.

Of course the U.S. could have changed their policies during the war but they didn’t. There are several stories of Jewish families that tried to leave on ships only to find that no nation would let them dock and eventually they ended up back in Europe.

It’s a long sad story but the story of Anne Frank is just another in a long line of tragedies that happened during the war.
