I would say the citizens want economic security, peace, prosperity and safety. Give them that, and they will agree that they made some terrible mistakes in the past with who THEY supported and put in the position where they could abuse their power so egregiously. Right now, they don’t really believe their mistakes were all that bad - just politics - but they’re starting to come around.

When the crimes that were committed by, for instance, the previous administration are made public in full, people will want justice. Millions of us want justice right now. You say:

"They" is an awful big word. Do you have any idea of how many people are aware that actual serious crimes were committed by the previous administration, not just "mistakes" that were not "that bad"?
