I think you are confusing baking soda [comes in a box and doesn’t have aluminum] with baking powder [comes in a small can and some brands though not all may have aluminum]… they are two different things. Some recipes call for both.
I am aware of this. But. there are some that make a big deal about their baking soda being Al free. Might as well say it’s gluten free, as well.
