I enjoyed the pool that my parents had when I was a kid. However, it also taught me about all the work and expense that is needed. So even though hubby could have built us a nice pool, I said no way.

However, we now have a pool to store water for the garden - it really resembles a pond in a tank.

My mom loved that pool. She always loved the water. But a pool is a big pain in the pocketbook and on one’s time. Standing out in the sun vacuuming out the pool, making sure the water is balanced, skimming leaves off the top and pulling creepy crawlies out of the pool is not my idea of a good time.

I was thinking about closing the whole thing down but it’s expensive to do that too. Pools are really for people who can pay people to do the work and who have an unlimited income. It’s not a middle class endeavor. But that’s just my two cents. Other people may feel differently.
