A Bahama Breeze Island Grille in Cleveland faces claims of racial profiling after police were called during a gathering of African-American women at the Caribbean-themed eatery owned by Darden Restaurants.
Chante Spencer, among some 40 members of Delta Sigma Theta at the restaurant, told Cleveland.com the problems started when one woman frustrated with waiting for her bill for 25 minutes said she was going to leave. A restaurant employee called police even as the woman waited and paid her tab because the manager wanted officers to be there to ensure other members of the gathering covered their bills, Spencer told the local media outlet on Wednesday.
The sorority gathering included a doctor, a judge, educators and other professionals who became upset because they believed the manager targeted them because of their skin color, Spencer said of the incident Tuesday night. "Police were standing there to make sure everyone paid, which we felt was racial profiling," she told Cleveland.com, saying she was speaking as a patron not on behalf of the sorority.
The police report states that all bills were paid and that a member of the group told police when they arrived that she would make sure the tabs were covered, according to Cleveland.com. Police did not make any arrests but remained at the restaurant about one hour.

It was about paying the bill in full, not about anyone's race, but...'RACIAL PROFILING!'
Oh well. Every year when black spring break was a thing where I live, large groups of students would eat at local restaurants and then just walk out. Also, utterly trash their hotel rooms, not to mention use the locals lawns as bathrooms, and the public roads as whorehouses, on top of cars yet.
Let me guess, they all requested separate checks?
Must be that black privilege thing again -
Having spent 20+ years in the restaurant business, having a party of 40 black sorority sisters show up is the kind of nightmare from which Id wake up screaming.
40 people and they wanted separate checks? 25 minute wait for the bill? less than one minute per bill. I am surprised it did not take longer.
Ah, youve experienced Freaknik?
The sisters really should have to wait on tables where the black community is the majority. I have seen black wait staff refuse to take tables of black women. They would rather give the table to someone else than put up with them.
Hahaha. I find that hilarious.
p.s. I would love to know how much was left in tips. Because...well....you know....

I shut down my pub the weekend Freaknik was in town, two years in a row. Did cleaning and maintenance.
Fast forward the thinking process here though folks. These are the next generation of our workforce. How would you like to have to manage these ratchets? Imagine detailing work place duties and responsibilities to them as they are employed in your place of business?
They just happened to have those “Racial profiling”
posters left from last time...
Are there pictures of the counter protest with signs that read, "Stop being F'd up and We Will"?
Just wondering.

That’s a dude in the NY Yankees hat. Has to be.
Well our smaller version of it anyway :) But were a smaller area, so it was quite enough, thank you.
My son isn’t racist, but he quickly learned to hate serving black women. He said nobody liked doing regardless of the servers race.
My son is brown skinned via his mother being Puerto Rican.
He has had great exceptions who seem to know the stereotype and over compensate with being nice and tipping really well.
Didnt the NAACP practically force Myrtle Beach businesses to stay open for back biker week? Ive wondered about that, how could it be legal to force a business to stay open?
Put 40 white sorority girls in a establishment...with an attitude and threat to leave without paying...and they’d call the cops on them too.
It’s the ghetto attitude, not race that brings this scrutiny.
Something lost on ghetto denizens.
