I wonder with him being a Senator, if there are any laws that would give the government a right to see the body prior to burial or cremation? If I hear he died without proof I would always be suspicious that he slunk away.

Well, we’ve never seen the body of Osama Bin Laden. Not sure it would be much different for his comrade in arms.
