I believe the players playing best are still at the top of the leaderboard, but it’s no fun to see pros play like hackers. I’ve seen enough of that to last a lifetime already.
Augusta National is the only organization that knows how to run a major championship.
I agree with your assessment of the Masters. That is the greatest golf course in the world in my humble opinion. Though it is closed to us regular folks (we ain’t rich enough or big wheels enough) to get in, I love the course. The holes with the flowers, creek and bridges are the most beautiful to the eyes on any course I have seen. The ones along the coast at Pebble Beach are great also. Can’t beat the crashing waves against the rocks while along those holes. I went to a military law course out at Monterey back in the 1980s and a group of us went out and drove through that area. You entered at a gate house and actually had to pay to drive around the road that went along the golf course, those mansions along the course, and sights there, and then you exited out another gate. I have a great photo of the Lone Cyprus that is growing on that rock along the coast.
