Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Danny Kirwan has died in London aged 68.
Kirwan was described as a "huge force" in Fleetwood Mac's early years, penning some of their lesser-known songs and contributing vocals.
As a teenager, Kirwan's band Boilerhouse supported Fleetwood Mac at venues in London before he was invited to join the group itself in 1968.
His work was featured on five of the band's albums released between 1969 and 1972.
He passed away on 8 June according to a post on the band's official Facebook page by drummer Mick Fleetwood.

Uschi Obermaier.....famed German radical temptress
Fleetwood Mac was a righteous blues band in the late 60s and early 70s, pre-Nicks/Buckingham. Danny Kirwin and Peter Green were the guitarists. Those albums are completely different from the pop version of the band (which was also most excellent).
He was till he tripped off with Uschi Obermaier
Hes a top 20 guitarist in my view
Cause really, in 1979, what else did we need to know?
I hated Tusk when it came out. Now I think its almost a stand alone art work.
Green Manalishi
LSD monster
Foreshadowing
Sigh.
Who do you like?
True
I like Nicks
And Buckingham is an interesting guitarist too as well as varied vocalist
I saw him at the Franklin theatre two years back amazing
I remember punking a couple of FReepers with her “stand back” song, lol. I truly love the solo stuff Christine McVie did though. Some of my favorite songs of all time.
Now if I could come up with a wife-pleasing turntable stand.
Wow.
I’ve got two Autographed Bottles of Mick Fleetwood Wine.
If I outlive him, I’m taking them to Antiques Roadshow to see if I can Retire.
Pretty girl
She squirted a lot of rockers but ran with Baider Meinhoff fringes
LSD and eurostudent revolutionaries
German revolutionary kids were a harder bunch than our Weather Underground
Im not familiar with many of Peter Greens songs but the ones Ive heard, I like.
While listening to Oh Well on Spotify, I realized that I had heard that song before on a Classic Rock station. I just didnt know the songs name or artist. I would have never guessed that it was Fleetwood Mac.
Im liking Bare Trees and Mystery To Me. I love the song Hypnotized. Im planning on listening to the albums that you listed.
I bet those concerts were a blast.
I still have both of those albums. I can’t help but feeling most of us felt odd back in the day when everyone else was listening to Atomic Rooster, lol.
Yow, that would be about impossible for a younger guy to resist.
Think I read years ago that Green took up grave digging as an occupation.
Who do you like?
Sandy Denny was probably the most talented female singer of that time period.

Never heard of her.
Now I feel culturally incompetent.
Never heard of her.
Steeleye Span. Shes best known in America for her vocal work with Led Zeppelin on The Battle Of Evermore.
Look her up. I think youll find it worth a listen.
I hope you enjoy it.

I watched one video of her, Ill look for another.
She reminded me of Eva Cassidy, but (no offense) I thought Eva was slightly better. :-)

Eva came along later, in the 90s I believe. I tried to keep my selection relevant to the time period. LOL.
Truth be told I much prefer the work of Rickie Lee Jones over Stevie Nicks. Id have loved to had dinner with her and Tom Waites. LOL.
Best,
L
