What made me include it is that they promote the Modern language Association formatting and style guide...which leads to the headquarters of the MLA in New York, which leads to some political controversy with the MLA.

Proposing an academic boycott of Israel - the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) resolution was rejected in a 113 to 79 vote during its annual meeting in January 2017.

Also the Modern Language Association has been accused of filing politically motivated copyright complaints against the conservative YouTube channel, Legal Insurrection. This resulted in YouTube pulling 8 years of their content without notice January 13, 2018. Looks like their channel is back up without the content.

The reason was a suit filed by the MLA based on copyright claims to audio of the vote on the Israel divestment resolution, which Legal Insurrection posted.

This is important because it relates to the new EU copyright law which potentially threatens fair use of copyrighted material, and a lot of content on the internet, including FR.

That really turns out to be a profound finding, eldoradude. I did not have that background to recognize that significance.

Great JOB!!!

The regulation is the EU's stab at restructuring copyright law for the internet age in an effort to protect digital rights holders like record labels, photo agencies, and film studios.<>
But privacy advocates warn the rules – which will be debated this month – violate the fundamental rights of internet users and could be used to excessively censor the web.

Censorship - that's what it's all about. Getting rid of all content that contradicts the official line.
