1.)By 7:16 PM US Time on the 5th, Six Horsa Gliders land at Pont de Bénouville (renamed Pegasus Bridge)and the Pont de Ranville (renamed Horsa Bridge) with 180 Brit Airborne who take both bridges by 7:35 PM (12:35 AM Jun 6th).By 8:00PM US time (1:00 AM June 6th France time)on June 5th, The 101st and 82nd Airborne Paratroopers were dropped over the Cotentin peninsula- some right into the middle of the town of St. Mere Eglise, many into marshes.
2.) By 9:00 PM ( US time on June 5th, the first wave of British bombers leaves Britain to bomb the beachheads of Normandy. Lancasters heavily loaded.
3.) At 9:51 US (2:51 AM France) the USS Ancon, flagship of the Omaha assault force, drops anchor 11 miles off the coast of France-undetected.
Let us never forget the turning point in history, nor the daily diminishing numbers of WWII Veterans whom we should HONOR. And shame forever the lying Quislings who have since then, cashed in on the lives, loves and labors of these Brave Men and Women. Deo Vindice. If D Day happened today, we’re almost likely to lose. I’m sure the NYT and the MSM will leak our invasion plans to Germany..
They would have done it then if we weren’t on the same side as the communists.

An interesting tidbit is Actor Richard Todd played a soldier who met Richard Todd, himself during the battle. He was one of those rare actors who was a hero in real life.
My grandfather turned 20 years old D-DAY plus four after having landed on Omaha Beach at the end of the first wave as a combat engineer. He was the most humble man I’ve ever known. When I was a boy he didn’t talk about the war often but when he did he always expressed survivor’s guilt with an expression of pain and sorrow on his face that is hard to describe. I miss him dearly.
My Father also landed at Normandy on Utah beach several days after D-Day. They were very fortunate as they were originally scheduled to land on D-Day but engine trouble forced their ship to delay.
He was also a Combat Engineer.
I hope, for your grandfather’s sake- that someone, many someones assured him that his actions SAVED lives, even as he himself survived. No greater gift than for him to have risked his life to blow up barb wire, tank traps and bunkers with machine guns— to stop the even greater slaughter that would have occurred without his incredible bravery. His humble bravery, as he watched his fellow soldiers blown to bits and cut down. The Lord had a plan for him, to survive. Deo Vindice (With God Our Defender).
Mine was in South Pacific- working with Aussie Coastwatchers many his friends- several of whom were discovered by Japanese and beheaded after torture. He never forgot their bravery, or the bravery of the Filipino guerrillas who went ashore with them, armed with machetes and M1911s in little rubber boats— in full moonlight. Just in awe of them.

No one can question the bravery and sacrifice of allied troops at Normandy. But, looking at the European Parliament as they conduct their meetings, and knowing about their several hundred thousand per year per each compensation, and how socialist and communist they all are...……….I regret that we made the sacrifice we did.
I hope Trump at some point puts them on notice that...…….. “never again”.

More than that. FDR, if not a closet communist himself, surrounded himself with actual agents of Stalin, starting with his “Co-president”, Harry Hopkins, as well as Harry Dexter White and Alger Hiss (and thousands of others).
The Courage and patriotism of the men who participated in the invasion were off the charts; but, THEIR CIVILIAN LEADERS WERE TRAITORS.
The Normandy invasion itself was Stalin’s plan. The U.S. PULLED OUT OF EUROPE (successful Italy/Balkans push) to re-invade Europe from the Northwest. THIS ALLOWED THE SOVIETS TO CAPTURE HALF OF EUROPE.
The same group of traitors were instrumental in the disastrous Yalta talks, in flipping China to communism, and in delivering the A-Bomb to Stalin starting in 1943—including not only the complete plans but also the uranium, the aluminum tubes the heavy water etc.
Americans have been lied to about WWII. It was actually won by the USSR via the KGB—possibly the greatest victory in the history of intelligence agencies—infiltrating the U.S. government at the highest levels.
We have a family friend who was a young sailor on a Canadian warship in the assault fleet. He had a front row seat to the invasion. IIRC they spent part of the morning plucking GIs out of the water down in the American sector.
My dad was sitting on Corsica waiting for the 7th Army’s chance to invade the south of France, which came about two months after Normandy.
The original plan had been to launch both invasions at once but there wasn’t enough shipping to pull off two large landings at once.
Before Normandy, really heavy fighting had been going on for nearly a year in Italy. The mountainous Italian geography is most agreeable to the defense and the German army had constructed a series of formidable defensive lines. The advance up the spine of Italy was very slow and bloody, with the liberation of Rome coming just two days before the Normandy invasion.

He was spot on. He should be an American hero. He gave his life, was hounded into his grave by the Left, but bought our country a few more decades before that rot set in.
One of my favorite books: “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies” by M. Stanton Evans touches on all of those things.
His D-Day story is picking up a foul-mouthed US pilot that dropped below the clouds to get a bearing. The invasion fleet opened up, and downed him.
Berra was surprised the pilot survived the fusillade.
Yeah I remember hearing Yogi Berra tell about his being on a Higgins boat or some other tiny craft at Normandy...I think he was all of 17 yrs old.
..that was the generation that not only didn’t kneel to protest the National Anthem, they put their careers on hold and put their lives in peril.
More than 500 major leaguers served in WWII with a couple of them KIA, one on Iwo Jima.
