The Cemex Golani Quarry won its first beauty banner last year, and the Kadarim Quarry began competing in 2014, winning five stars in 2015.
The candidates are judged according to five different criteria: the external appearance of the quarry; the interior of the plant; safety; a sustainable approach and contribution to the community; and the employees’ welfare.
Elements like access for the disabled, gardens and greenery, equipment for noise and dust prevention, energy-saving lighting and air conditioning, as well as water management and control systems, helped these Cemex quarries garner their stars.
