Interesting. I imagine it’s because they are predators. There is a saying “never eat the liver of a predator” because they (we) store all the toxins of their prey in the liver. I’m not sure how many predators were permissible to eat, but I doubt many.

Good point you make about the liver being unwholesome to eat coming from a predator.

Predator livers generally have to high of levels of vitamin A.
