Of course they were looking for any reason to axe their top rated show, when it wasn’t advancing the progressive, anti-American cause. This is actually the second time, the first being with “Last Man Standing.”
Killing their top rated show twice because it’s not politically correct. If I were a stock holder, I’d be very angry, since this demonstrates an allegiance to an ideology, rather than the good of the company and stockholders.

If Roseanne Barr had said the exact same thing about Ben Carson or Clarence Thomas that she said about Valerie Jarrett, not only would her show still be on the air, it would have been renewed for another two seasons already — and every “woke” “progressive” would be fervently defending her. No question about it.
ABC had a real problem. Going into November with Rosanne as the #1 rated show as the 2018 mid terms approached was something which could not be allowed.
Attack their positions and their policies not the person.
While liberals can get away with mocking people on their looks and name, Conservatives can't. (I know it's not fair).
Know their traps. Don't fall into them.
Maybe rosanne was looking for an out as well.
