As the outcry swells over Roseanne Barr’s vile tweet about former Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, Wanda Sykes tweeted today that she is leaving ABC’s Roseanne revival, on which she served as a writer and consulting producer.

Sykes was one of the key writers on the revival and had been set to return for Season 2. She also appears on ABC’s hit comedy Black-ish, is producing the upcoming Throw Mama from the Game Show and hosted the GLAAD Media Awards last month.
The Roseanne star has apologized to Jarrett for tweeting what she said was “a joke” about her, but reaction has been swift and merciless. We’re waiting for ABC to weigh in on the controversy surrounding Barr tweeting that Obama’s former advisor looks like “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a baby.”
Whitney Cummings said this month that she is won’t be returning to the Roseanne revival as executive producer/co-showrunner, which she called a “surreal, incredible experience.” Bruce Helford is taking over her roles for next season, which will be the sitcom’s 11th overall.

I think they canceled it because she APOLOGIZED.
I think it would still be on, “generating controversy” and INCREASING ratings, if she hadn’t apologized and run.
that does surprise me- especially when propelled like joy reid outright diss gay people, double down and still keep their jobs- didn’t think abc would throw away their cash cow- but i was wrong- now the left will label her as a racist who supports trump who is also racist they claim-

FYI, I never watched her previous or formerly current shows, but respected her recent stand against our country’s enemies — until today.
Many of the bigwig leftists at ABC were aghast that Roseann’s program was a hit. They wanted nothing to do with any conservative ideas airing on their network. They probably figured it would fail miserably and make our side look bad. It backfired on them and was gaining a large following so they were looking for ways to get rid of the show anyway. Roseanne’s tweet played right into their hands, IMO.
Plus they got her to apologize and run away from twitter.
Gee, now she’s going to have to grovel before the phony racist “reverends”.
Perhaps they’ll let her and Don Imus do a radio show together.
