Tex, did you read to the end of that article and see the Trump quote they used? To me they are trying to imply that this is what Trump advocated for in February. Do you think they are going to hang the bill around Trump's neck? They have the quote from him, NBC News ✔ @NBCNews President Trump: "I like taking the guns early ... Take the guns first, go through due process second."

I saw that article the other day. They take one very off-hand quote from Trump - no context, and nothing about what he said after and later on.

IMHO it’s a scare article.

First of all, it will NEVER pass Congress. Ever.

And if by some strange twist of fate it did, Trump would NEVER sign it.

If it is from NBC, I have to be thinking that I detect the smell of “fake news.”

The senate conspirators might indeed be trying to hang it around his neck, but thousands have heard him say the opposite over and over again. He also has a track record for doing exactly what he says. “Your second amendment is safe.”

If he said anything like that, my guess is that it would have to do with some VERY narrow perimeters. As I write this, yes, I do seem to recall something like that he said..... but without further data, I will go with it being taken out of context.

All the more reason to crank up the memes and calling congress critters.
