Here’s a reason for the doubters - I’m one half the time - to trust Sessions:
1). Stephen Miller stayed like 10yrs as his top aide.
2). CINC snatched the wunderkid, who has never disparaged JS.
3). Miller is pretty much the last original standing.
Sessions, over time, realized Stephen could not only be trusted with The Plan, he’d be essential in executing it.

The president trusts Miller, and Miller Trusts Sessions. We know that Sessions appointed Utah AG John Huber last November, so he wasn’t just ignoring what was going on. There are things going on that require secrecy, so we can hope this T. Gowdy thing is a Feign to draw media attention away from the IG report until its release. (We Hope.)
(I understand from somewhere else that Trey’s family got some threats about his pursuit of Bengahzi and he does not have a unit of Marines and S Servs assigned to protect him.)
