My take on it was that he was saying yes, they worked her over. There have been similar theories about many prominent politicians with black eyes (left eye). Kind of odd, but makes sense.
As far as black eyes go, I think about all the adults I know and how many of them have had a black eye as an adult and I come up with ZERO. (Pretty sure I’d remember if they did. So if not zero, then a very, very small number.) That’s many hundreds of people over many, many years. Yet there are multiple politicians and celebs who have had black eyes. Lots of photos when you search.
Just find it a stretch that anyone would get close enough to ‘work her over’. Sounds like a fantasy to me.
I’m well aware of the whole black eye theory and wouldn’t you know it, I had the worst black eye of my life just a few weeks back! I’m just south of 60, am in no way involved with any secret cabal yet my eye looked like I had taken a beating! Actually tripped over my own feet running in the rain and face planted, hurt like heck.
