Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Bannister, Commander of the 10th Mountain Division, Dies 6 Days Before Retirement. He Was Completing A 34 Year Career.
The Pentagon has released a statement from Lt. Gen. Michael Garrett, Commanding General of U.S. Army Central, announcing the death of Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Bannister. Bannister, 56, stepped down last month as Commander of the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY, as part of the retirement transition.
He appeared to be in fine health on Saturday and the Pentagon said the death "was under investigation." The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the Pentagon did not release additional information on the circumstances surrounding Bannister's death
Since 2001, the 10th Mountain Division has been one of the most deployed divisions in the Army. Under his command during the past two years, units of the division deployed seven times to Afghanistan, Kuwait, Africa, Iraq and Korea. He died at what was to be his retirement home in Lake Murray, South Carolina.
Gen. Garrett described Bannister as "a legendary soldier and a good man who dedicated his life to his country. We are grieving with his family during this very difficult time.
Prior to passage of the 2018/2019 defense budgets, Bannister had given several interviews warning about the military readiness crisis.
He said "It is an uncertain world that we're in. That's why it's so important we get the funding, training and equipment we need. We had seven very lean years. "If we get the current budget approved, we can repair the force and stop the 'death by a thousand cuts.' . . . "I like Fort Drum better than any other post because of the care factor. I think they really care for us here," he said.
It was his desire that Fort Drum become a new site for missile defense. In 2005, Bannister took command of the 4th Brigade Combat Team which he led into combat in Iraq, on what would be his third deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He went on to serve as the executive officer to the commanding general of Multi-National Forces-Iraq. Bannister also deployed multiple times to Afghanistan, including as the deputy commander of the 10th Mountain Division and again as the deputy chief of staff for operations for the International Security Assistance Force. Bannister spent 11 months in Afghanistan in 2016 and 2017.
The General was never political but he was not a fan of the Obama administrations policy of telling the Taliban in advance of U.S. plans.
He described Obama's Afghan troop draw down as "an ugly cliff."
Found this on a chance site. https://mobile.twitter.com/nevinreese/status/999083374257033216?s=21
|| talked to one such person at a dinner last weekend. He ate quickly, then excused himself and left. It is a rude awakening for them to find out that tens of thousands of Democrat “leaders” are heading for justice. ||
I believe that to be so, too. I could write an opus laying out the background/beliefs of my step-daughter and husband. I’ll just say for brevity they are NOT US(^2).
My wife was visiting them last week, and a conversation at a winery rolled over to politics with her daughter. The husband quickly got up and stormed off to sit in the car until ready to leave. My wife asked if she had made him mad. “Oh, don’t worry about it. He’s been doing that a lot lately.” :) x5
Chan not chance.

Has he been absent from his CNN gig?
Not sure since I don’t go anywhere near CNN. Good question.
And if anyone thinks that the oligarchy is NOT using vaccines to do ugly deeds around the world, they need to become greatly MORE AND BETTER informed. e.g. the Mexican region that had 75%, IIRC, vaccine receivers becoming sterile. The oligarchy's depopulation schemes are alive and functioning, advancing frog-in-bucket style--well on planet earth.
So, what’s his status vis a vis Equador’s embassy?
Not sure, nothing on twitter or website?
I haven’t heard anything. But haven’t searched it out, either.
I am also using the time for research and rabbit holes. Here’s my latest:
Considering Q’s April Showers comment, CNN comment, and misspelling of rain...
CNN correspondent April Ryan has long been a thorn in press secretaries sides. She is also married to a Wells Fargo bigwig. I’m wondering if CNN revelations will involve her.
Well, working for H, she probably learned how to trade cattle futures.
(Its easy if your broker is associated with Tyson and doesn’t bother with minor details like 7 or 8 margin calls.)
Interesting. Chimpanzees do have pink skin at least in the areas without hair.
I linked someone yesterday to Alamo Girl... don't know what happened to her... I have lost track, but do not see her posting on FR these days.
Here is a comment about the pic:
Not Brennan. This is the after party as folks were leaving the meeting last Thursday. Do not know if it was the 2pm meeting or not. Two briefings, the last one with the gang of 8.
But it sure looks like Brennan being escorted to me, and his last tweet was on the 20th.
