Last November’s celebration of the end of WWI. Individuals could purchase the ceramic poppies, once the British celebration was over. My family has one.

Most interesting, CP! And what a lovely picture of those poppies spilling out of the castle!

Poppies are the emblem of remembrance of the WWI dead. I’m having a disturbing feeling about that right now that I’m having trouble putting into words. Especially in the context of how poppies have been so greatly misused. They are meant to be a blessing.

I suspect that is part of the discussion over at 8chan.

As far as me being a gardener, I’m very much a brown thumb with flecks of green from time to time. Our REAL gardener is greeneyes, who runs the FR Garden thread!

That picture was posted around the same time as a bunch of the culty type commentary and I had chased that for awhile tinking they were lotus or something before I realized that the white flowers and green leaves appear to be meant to represent magnolia sieboldii, which makes sense as that is the national flower of Norkland.

That weird light green leaf like thing sticking out doesnt belong on a magnolia, or if it does I cant tell what its supposed to be.

There are many different types of poppy leaves. One could possibly argue if taken alone that it is supposed to be a very primitive representation of a poppy leaf of some some generic nonspecific strain of poppy I suppose but then when added back to the rest of the flower it makes no sense because the one kind of leaf that doesnt show up on poppies is the dark round non-toothed leaves that surround the flower. Those appear on magnolias.
