In American society, it is widely acknowledged that white people should not say the n-word. Nor should they rap it. Nor should they rap it on stage at a Kendrick Lamar performance in front of thousands of people.
One white-appearing woman, identified in a video as "Delaney," learned that lesson the very public way at Alabama's Hangout Festival on Sunday. Lamar invited Delaney onstage during his song "M.A.A.D. City," which chronicles the rapper and recent Pulitzer Prize winner's experiences growing up in Compton.
The song contains 15 instances of the slang word "n---a," three of which Delaney rapped with abandon. Until the music stopped halfway through the song.
"What's up? Aren't I cool enough for you?" she said, according to video of the incident posted on social media. The packed crowd can be heard booing and cursing at the woman.
"You got to bleep one single word," Lamar said.
Delaney admitted it was an honest mistake: "Did I do it? I'm so sorry ... I'm used to singing it like you wrote it."
Lamar allowed the visibly embarrassed woman to stay on stage and restart the song. Delaney sang along once more; this time, with the racial epithets noticeably absent.
Critics have long debated whether it is appropriate for white people to sing or rap the n-word if it appears in song lyrics. Given the historical use of the word as a racial epithet, many people believe a white person should avoid saying the word in any context.
On a November tour stop for his book "We Were Eight Years in Power," Atlantic columnist and author Ta-Nehisi Coates said he sees the word as a teaching moment for white people.

"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas."
Some Blacks are such hypocrites. They should stop saying that word, too.
So...many...rules
“Another teaching moment for white people.” But blacks don’t need teaching moments, okay.
The word was “a” not another in quote
But black people can say it all they want? Wrong! Liberals try to control everything, including speech.

I can say I add crackers to my soup, brcause Im white. Other races need to use different language now...either that or we can all ignore leftwing idiocy.
This feels completely staged to me. As they used to say in the old days of pro wrestling, a work.
Either everyone should say the word or no one should say it.
Yes. Definitely. Too much canibus.
My Latin teacher, Brother Declan, would then swat me with his Latin text and say in hoc signo vinces!
I never did well in Latin.
It will give you just a little peek into the world of what it means to be black. Because to be black is to walk through the world...
Does this performer realize that the vast majority of the worlds black people are not Americans and dont have any hang-up about their race?
No, whites should stop subsidizing the ghetto. Blacks want segregation. Let’s give it to them. They want the fifties back. Me too.
I have finally excepted the fact I will never be excepted.

We all new what you meant. I get a charge out of these people who can’t wait to correct someone’s English. After all, this is a political forum, not an English class.
Why didn’t the White fan rebuke HIM? As in: “Don’t write it if you don’t want people to sing it!”

Several years ago I played senior softball with a black guy who would use the N word in virtually every other sentence. It it was very uncomfortable being around him......He’s in prison now tho......
