Good question.

I think if they could entice Trump campaign people to take that bait, since the story is that Russia did the hacking, receiving them would be evidence of collusion with Russia. Which as far as I know, collusion is not a crime. But their spin on it would make it seem so.

Then he would either not be elected or they could impeach him.

JMHO

Happy to hear other perspectives on this.

That sounds reasonable. Since I saw you last upthread, I’ve been thinking about it.... wonder if it could be that some (most???) of those emails might have been classified - receiving classified without clearance carries some kind of penalty, doesn’t it? Unless you are a urinalist....hmmmmm maybe off track here.

We’ll go with yours.
