Reminds me of an IQ test I once took in the Democratic Republic of Congo (that big dark red one, in case you’re not one of those super smart Americans:
Abegunde Ma’alo Kinze has three machetes. Banana Mura Militia requires him to decapitate four neighbors, but two of them are Ba’ana Mura.
Should he give the two other machetes to his Ba’Ana Mura brothers, and keep one so that they can all share the required head-count,
or hide two in his mother’s hut where they are least likely to be used to chop off his fifth and most attractive wife’s breasts,
instead using his remaining machete to chop off his Banana Mura brothers’ fingers so they will not use his machetes to torture his cousin Maka’mibe who knows where a box of 7.62 ammunition may be hidden,
before he, himself, can torture his cousin Maka’mibe in order to find the ammo to trade for a pre-teen bride?
Like The Bell Curve-truths that mustn’t be spoken.
I watch too many crazy Ivan videos to believe that Russia scores that high.
USA (22nd.) 98
Not that great a difference.
Italy beats the Frogs and the Krauts. That’s not going to sit well in certain EU circles. And for the US to tie for 9th with all the morons we have? That’s a surprise.
The US number is pretty good if you consider that the US welfare system incentivizes stupid people to breed in huge numbers.
There may be some correlation with high disease burdens and malnutrition for areas like sub-Saharan Africa being so low.
One standard deviation of population averages versus human average would be reasonable, given the Ashkenazi average that is 1 deviation HIGHER. This means other populations being an average of one deviation (15 points) lower isn’t unreasonable.
I don’t care the IQ of our individual citizens or of subgroups, the problem is you have groups that are generally less smart and then blame racism because they have less members in top jobs. I’ve had relatives who are dumb as dirt and I love them, but they never blamed anyone else for their job status.
“..United States 98 ...”
Well, we have democrats after all, the whole Bell curve thing, you see...
When our robots shine their 3000 IQ’s will we be able to ‘average’ them in?
We know what parts of the world being down our average.
China is a one-state, communist, highly ethnocentric country.
No one takes a foreign-sponsored IQ,( or any other test) without the government taking a long, hard look at it, and choosing exactly under what conditions the test will be administered, and to whom.
Well, I guess that I’m smarter than the average bear.
As I’ve said before, ask not for whom the Bell Curve tolls.
I'll believe Japan, but I'm not sure that I buy China... 1.3 billion is a LOT of people, and the western half of the nation is very, very, very poor. Now, as a national cultural norm, they ALL know, deeply ingrained in their hearts, that education is one of the best paths for success... but 105, for 1.3 billion people, including hundreds of millions of destitute farmers? Not buying it.
Note the stark difference between Haiti and Dominican Republic. Even on a Google Earth map, the ground goes from brown to green, right along their border. That island has got to be an amazing source for all sorts of good comparative research papers.
I believe that a nation's/region's standard of living is almost always a very good indicator of national/regional IQ.Take,again,China.I can accept that people of Chinese blood living in certain Western countries would have an average IQ just over 100.But having been to mainland China several times (including a few years ago) and having seen that the overwhelming majority of the people are living lives not much different than their ancestors of 1,000 years ago there's no way that mainland China's average IQ is over 100.
