Meghan Markle has surprised everyone by wearing a wedding dress designed by Givenchy's Clare Waight Keller after months of speculation liking her to other designers, such as Erdem. The bride-to-be stunned onlookers this morning as she stepped out of her car wearing the classic silk gown in pure white with a 15st veil embroidered with flowers of the Commonwealth, after predictions she'd chosen a heavily beaded gown. The veil is made from silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads and organza, while the look was completed by a Cartier bracelet and earrings and a Queen Mary diamond bandeau tiara, loaned to her by the Queen, prompting proud Prince Harry to tell his bride: 'You look amazing'.

Soul Train was pretty Conservative. Don Cornelius refused to have rap crap on his show.
Silly me. I though it was because household appliances always came in white.
I didnt feel sorry for anyone. The bishop gave an address that I felt shooked many of the family members and guests! It was great fun to look at the faces of the guests when the camera panned! His message appeared new to the guests. I liked it! I liked the blending of American culture with the formal British culture. Seemed to shake off some of the stiffness weve come to expect from British Royals. His message was heartfelt.
Interesting too, that I only recognized American actors in attendance. Sport celebrities Serena Williams and Beckham. Then of course, Elton John Bechams wife (Spice singer?). I didnt recognize anyone else.
I thought Meghans dress was perfect, but the veil too long, though it was cute to see the children carry her veil. Give up on the purity crap, not many women are virgins when they get married in these times. Meghan is really a very beautiful woman and radiates a sincerity, that engenders warm responses from people. The couple really put their unique stamp on the wedding. I thought it was a lovely ceremony, the readings, hymns and music. Prince Harry swayed a lot - I thought he was nervous, as this was really the first time eyes were so focused on him. Noticed too, how the couple held hands throughout the ceremony.
It was monumental when at the end they sang God Save The Queen. I studied Meghans face - wondering if she understood what becoming Harrys wife meant, that her allegiance now is to Britain. The camera was on her as she sang. Interesting study.
I watched it streamed on NPR and there was no running commentary. I watched it live on YT.
T’isn’t a “Negro spiritual”: it’s not religious. Written as a pop song in 1961 by Ben E. King, and it’s been covered hundreds of times in the past 50+ years by non-gospel individuals and groups.
Meghan’s parents are both Protestants. She was apparently schooled in Catholic schools but confirmed in the CoE a couple of weeks ago.
I think it’s funny that they’re trying to promote interracial marriage when she looks white LOL.
Farcical wedding that was embarrassingly gauche. The rest of the world looks down on Americans believing us to be ignorant, uneducated and crass. Megan Markle proved them correct today unfortunately. Harry will never live today down with his peers. For his sake, I hope he does not care and will be happy with his poor choice of a bride, but I think we are seeing Fergie v2.0.
I noticed in many pics to day that many of those Brit gals were not wearing schtopsemfloppins.
I was looking at the Daily Mail.
Now that there’s funny, I don’t care who you are.
The DailyMail is a photographic smorgasbord. And today, apparently, they were already all out of schtopsemfloppins when the guests went through the salad bar. So it looks like a meat rack.
Maybe she self-identifies as a virgin.
My gosh; after all the nastiness I’ve seen on the various royal wedding threads, YOU have restored my faith in the thoughtfulness and kindness of Freepers.
Well Done!
Thanks! Just trying to be a simple, old-fashioned, Christian gentleman.
