The best guess this reporter has on the meaning of this is that the deep state is at work planting “bombs” because they “know” what is coming and that it is the CIA behind the misinformation campaign, which is intended to get ahead of coming BOOMS.”
I read this much more directly...the bombs are in the IG report, and the meaning here is that what you are seeing from The NY Times, the New Yorker, Avenati etc. etc. are DS attempts to defuse “the bombs” in advance and give their propaganda organs something else to push to counter the effects of the bombs going off. It’s an ineffective effort in my opinion, but one thing you know about DS leftists, they always do something, even if doing nothing is by far the best course of action.
I like your read better than mine, Scott. Rather than the deepies PLANTING the bombs, they are the "bomb squad" trying to defuse incoming bombs by the good guys with their "get out in front" misinformation.
