Folks, forget the pollsters, forget the pundits, the Democrat Party is going to get devastated in defeat in the United States Senate. The "Blue Wave" never was and, never will be. Here's the real world of Senate Democrats in trouble today, and, I believe it will get worse for the Democrat Party as time marches on toward Mid-Term election day in November.
In trouble Democrat Senate candidates: - Bill Nelson - Joe Donnelly - Tina Smith - Claire McCaskill - Jon Testor - Heidi Heitkamp - Sherrod Brown - Bob Casey - Tammy Baldwin - Joe Manchin - Elizabeth Warren - Tim Kaine - Debbi Stabenow
Republicans will win six to 12 USA Senate seats. They will also keep the House and pickup about 12-20 House seats.
POTUS, Trump will campaign heavily across the entire country, including California & New York. Obama, Clinton will be hiding in the swamp weeds...you will not see much of them. Reason, they cannot draw rally attendees. as for the impact of Schumer & Pelosi...forget it, go back to sleep!!!
Anyone who understands the basics of US politics could tell you, just looking at the map for 2018 that the Republicans are going to gain 6+ seats easily, and odds are that they gain more.
The house is where the R’s are in trouble, at present D enthusiasm and poor messaging and incompetence by the republicans, a lot of pink and purple districts will go blue... the D’s should win the house, but there is ZERO chance then will take the senate.
You are certainly correct about turn-out will shape the result, that’s always important but even more so during a mid-term election. The Democrats have assumed that they would have the advantage this year with this factor, however, recent primary contests suggest that the Dem may be very wrong.
You are also correct that both parties are unhappy with the performance of their party in the Congress, but one third of the electorate are the Independents and historically they blame the party in power. It comes with the territory.
Democrats are fighters. Ryan and McConnell are pathetic losers when confronting Pelosi and Schumer. Remember crying, sissy John Boehner?
Hence, when polled, neither the republican constituents or democrat constituents are happy. The result: 15.1% approval and 73.6% disapproval (Real Clear Politics average of seven polls). Its equal disdain. Therefore, the mid-terms will come down to turnout."
In most elections Democrats will vote for the Democrat because he's a Democrat; even if they didn't live up to campaign promises.
Republicans, in general, are less forgiving.
If they believed they were misled or lied to, some Republicans will sit out the election as a protest or to 'teach 'em a lesson about breaking campaign promises'.
When that dissatisfaction level is high enough, Republicans lose.
Of course when Republicans lose, they believe they lost because they were too right-wing extreme. Hence all the center-left-moderate Republicans.
The key to Republicans winning re-election is for them to do what they promised to do.
Republicans in office never seem to get this.
Using the example of Lincoln wanting to send barrels of Grant's favorite whiskey to his other generals, because Grant was a fighter - how about we send Ryan and McConnell a couple of Stormy Daniels gift certificates.
"We can't spare this man - he fights!"
for the same reason he signed the budget this year—
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have not had a budget since Usurpation Day.
There has been no regular order since.
Trump signed a continuing resolution.
That’s all Congress knows anymore.
I couldn’t agree with you more. I loathe Republicans especially the ones who obstruct our President.
Having said that, I will vote R in November if for no other reason than to protect this President from impeachment and loony Dems.
Ryan will be out of the Speakers job at the end of the month.
Who would you like to see take his place?
I’m voting Scott over Space Alien Nelson. Rick Scott is going to Washington as a businessman. As Rick say we need Term limits in DC
Judges...exactly!! And El Trumpo’s agenda. Some folks may not like a candidate for various reasons but look at the big picture!
The Pubbies will pickup at least six Senate seats and...if the Democrats continue their self-inflicted political; destruction, the Democrats could lose up to thirteen seats.
For instance, any Democrat current Senator that casts a “nay” vote against Gina Haspel (CIA Director) has got to be nuts. Trump will hang that around their necks across the entire country as he campaigns. Democrat, Joe Manchin (did nothing for WV Coal miners), voted against Trump tax reform is voting for Haspel to save his political life. Democrat, Joe Donnelly is doing the same thing. These two guys are toast...no burnt toast. I predict that Gina Haspel will garner five to ten Democrat “yes” votes. I also predict that Rand Paul will cast a “Yes” vote for Gina Haspel.
As for low life, dying, insane John McCain, he has zero impact on the Haspel nomination, since he is unable to get to Washington, DC to do his job...you know like casting a vote. So...what he utters means absolutely nothing. McCain, the low life, has deprived the citizens and voters of Arizona to have a functioning Senator. What a loser, deadbeat, useless human being this insane, ego-maniac, fool is...Satan awaits him!!!
“FREEPERS are bashing Scott all over the place. Many here prefer Nelson. Dont be shocked if conservatives especially on Free Republic keep Nelson in that seat.”
Really sad. As I see it, if Scott votes for Trump’s judges, which he certainly will, he can have all of the GUN CONTROL he wants in Florida, simply because TRUMP’S JUDGES will negate it...once there are enough of them, particularly at the Supreme Court.
The FLIP SIDE of that is that if Trump cannot get his judges through, the next Democrat president will simply use federal law PREEMPT gun freedoms that losing Republicans supported. In other words, if Scott veto’d the bill, lost the election over it, which would almost certainly have happened, not been in the Senate to help with Trump’s judges - the next Hillary would simply INVALIDATE Florida’s gun freedom - and with her judges, she wouldn’t even need Congress to pass a law - all EOs, and NO ONE in our court system able to stop her.
Jim Jorden, Jason Chavez, Trey Gowdy... conservative, hard working, patriotic Americans who love this country and believe in the rule of law.
You have got to be kidding...in my neck of the Florida woods we detest bill Nelson. ..at least Scott is for Term limits.
As far as the House of Rep goes, the more popular Trump gets from his successes, the more he should hew to the current line that If House of Rep goes Dem they will spend all their time trying to impeach him. It hits a responsive chord nationally.It is all about voter turnout and that line should generate much incentive for Republicans to vote.
I was going to say Jim Jordan as well! We could use someone with some stones and less inclination to go along to get along!
I predict Pubs pickup 6-8 senate seats and break about even in the house.
The Democrats will crank up their vote fraud efforts to "eleventy" in every marginal district where they have any presence at all. And it is very late to implement reliable counter-measures like voter ID and purges of the voter rolls.
And counties with Democrat election supervisors will continue to show 110% turnouts of "voters", unless they are under constant scrutiny at every stage of ballot collection and counting.
There simply must be enough Republican and Independent turnout to overcome 5 points of fraud from the Democrats.
This mid-term election is for "all the marbles".
I agree that R’s will win 6+ senate seats no matter what, but beliving a Nay vote on any nominee, other than perhaps a Supreme Court justice, especially if the nominee gets confirmed anyway is going to largely affect election results is a bit drinking too much of the kool aid.
The fall election dynamic is this currently, for democrats and trump haters it’s a referendum on Trump. These people are going to crawl over glass to vote D, just like republicans did in 2010... they will have huge midterm turnout numbers. For everyone else it’s a referendum on republicans or their local rep/senator.. and in that dynamic R’s are going to lose a lot of purple and pink districts. R’s need to wake up to reality and give those non traditional MAGA and Trump voters a reason to care and show up.. and honestly they have not remotely tried to talk to those voters let alone give them a reason to show up. In that dynamic the D’s take the house.
The only way the R’s find themselves winning seats in the house, is if the D’s openly run on impeachment... if they do that the R’s win 20+ seats in spite of their own incompetence because that will make the election a referendum on trump for everyone... and if that happens those MAGA voters will show up in droves in spite of the R’s incompetence.
Amen.I think we still have no county wide rats (Pasco county).
