We only did car and train trips. That must have been absolutely amazing. Closest I got to Chartres was someone brought me back a modern piece of stained glass art from the gift shop. What an opportunity to grow up on!
Lived in Jordan for a years. Drove VW bus from Amman through Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Greece and on up through Yugoslavia, and wound up in Netherlands.
Visited so many ancient sites, including Jerusalem.
Changed me forever.
