I’m not positive about this, but I think realtors are required to carry insurance that would cover you for your losses from the scammers she referred to you. I don’t know if you have an otherwise cordial relationship with her or if it is worth the trouble, but wanted to let you know just in case.

(I was once scammed by a realtor and contractor, lost a lot of money, won the court case against the contractor, but never collected because of legal maneuvering. At the time, I didn’t know I could go after the realtor also.)

Sue the broker. May get some restitution. My broker does not allow agents to recommend contractors.

Thanx.

Right now, we have a seemingly important showing (people flying in from the left coast specifically to view the property...which will look cheap compared to what they’re used to) coming up next week, so we’ll keep our powder dry on that topic.

If they make a decent offer that clears the bank, I’ll chalk the few hundred up to expenses and forget about it. ;~)
