What I would like to know is numbers of how many are recovered and how many are not. The article has almost no facts and most of it is vignettes on missing children. The vast majority are runaways or merely missing for short periods, hanging out with friends or with other family members or taken by a divorced or separated parent. . . solved. Many of those children are never seen again regardless of the explanation of how they disappeared.
