Otto Van Bismarck once said: Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable the art of the next best. For those who are looking for the repeal of the Second Amendment, I would urge them to abandon that hope and look to the the next best: the imposition of a national ban on assault weapons. What happens should these fascists do so should be interesting.
Nothing "interesting" happened when they passed an AWB in '94. As long as they allow already-owned weapons to be grandfathered as they did then, nothing will happen.
I completely agree. It’s not the weapon that needs regulating, it’s the action of the person when using it with evil intent that does.
A responsible person with a fully automatic, sound suppressed firearm is safer to society that a thug with a screwdriver.
People get yourselves a couple of 80% lowers and get to work....
Indeed. They're not going to make the same mistakes they did in '94 concentrating on cosmetic features like flash suppressors, bayonet lugs, and pistol grips only to see firearm manufacturers may slight modifications and keep on churning them out. The new one will include every semi-auto with a detachable magazine.
Pro-gun people had better wise up and stop worrying over pedantic details. Too many are spending too much time looking ahead for a repeat of the narrowly-defined '94 ban that they'll never see the complete semi-auto ban creeping up behind them.
The next AWB won't look anything like the last one. See my post above.
We knew what they were after back in 1962 when they “Only wanted to register handguns! Long guns will not be affected”.
We knew what they were still after in 1981 when they demanded..”The NRA is a rifle organization! They should give up their handguns, and they can KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”
Then they went after the rifles in 1988.
He's ONE HUNDRED PERCENT correct.
A Ban on "National Assault Weapons Ban" is the First Best Thing.
HERE, is the actual article ...

So-called “assault weapons” are actually semi-automatic rifles that were intended decades ago to be owned and used by the public, the citizens of America.
$hit-stains like Dan Zimmerman and Sol Wachtler can move to either Cuba or Mexico....no Second Amendment there!
They ignore the law of unintended consequences at their own peril. If it gets to that point nobody will be unscathed or insulated from the repercussions.
Sounds like a Nazi ...
Talks like a Nazi ...
No. Theyr'e cowards.
They're perfectly willing to send armed, uniformed agents of the State to kill you, though.
And most of the armed, uniformed agents of the State will follow their orders.
Plan accordingly.
In Oct 2016 Hillary surrogates, including Russ Feingold in WI, were talking about “Hillary will take Executive Action on Guns once elected”.
The Dems lost Northern ME, MI, WI (and almost lost MN) for the 1st time since the 1980s.
All those areas have large blue collar Democrat populations with strong hunting tranditions.
The Dems stupidity on Gun cost them 2016. It starting to look like it will also cost them dearly in 2018.
People get yourselves a couple of 80% lowers and get to work...................................Join a local Organized Patriot Militia Group, don’t have one? Maybe its time you should. Get your own shoulder patches, unit flag, uniforms to represent you areas and weaponry that matches. Need training? Lots of Vets out there more than willing to do so. They will not only teach you how to hide behind every blade of grass, they will teach you how to eat it too. You won’t need that don’t threat on me flag, get a new one that says, “Don’t F’ with me or my Republic.” Uniforms? Stay away from those Zouave styles and any of those BOSS models from the 30’s. A camouflaged grass bladed one would fit perfectly to coincide with General Yamato’s famous remark. As an organized militia, you should be allowed to possess automatic weapons. (BTW, dream on, fat chance that will ever happen, but it could lead to the production of soft warm brown bricks for the wall, produced by our congress critters.)
I think it can seriously be argued that Heller allows the ban of crew served weapons.one thing I found strange at the time was Scalia’s use of the term and the like. It is remarkably vague and Scalia was never known for vagueness in his opinions.

Read it again. He was arguing against banning any weapons useful to the militia.
