On ad that we simply cannot watch and promptly turn the channel is the ASPCA ad which show the unwanted, neglected animals and their injuries. Unable to sit through these, makes you cry
Yeah, Mrs. Hugin makes me immediately change the channel when those come on. I also hate the Save the Children commercials filmed with a hand-cam to make it look like they are rescuing kids from a combat zone. In reality STC picks up rafts full of Muslims off the coast Libya and ferries them to Italy.
The one for Gardisil where a twenty-something looks into the camera and says “Mom, Dad, I have cancer”.
Then they show their life in a series of flashbacks to age 12 as the announcer talks about how getting this vaccine early in life can prevent cervical cancer later on.
The ad ends with a 12-year old looking accusingly into the camera and saying “Mom, Dad, did you know? Well, did you?”
Whomever came up with that ad should be taken out and shot.
I can’t deal with that kind of stuff either.
