I think the ‘wildings’ so detested by the Godlier peasants were quite sanitized for the history books, as well.

Maybe that’s what prompted Tocqueville’s great/good analysis: no pedos were allowed to stay alive in the New World.

Please expand on Tocqueville’s analysis.

We’ll...I’ve read that back in the day...say in a tight-knit farming community in the Midwest...when men were men and most had well-grounded systems of right vs. wrong, if a pedo-type transgression took place, they would band together in solidarity and “quietly” take care of what needed “taken care of”.

Nothing was said after that about the punishment. Tight lips. The victim was spared indignity as well as the victim’s family. Know one needed to know.
