Muscle car on steroids?
peoples have been putting los cameros on 4x4s for years . .
Electric Golf Carts have been successful for decades.
Mid-engine ‘Vette is WAY overdue....
It’s amazing what passed for tasteful paint schemes back in the 70s. Remember the bicentennial Fords? And the pink Ford Mavericks and Pintos? Eurgh.
” because it makes sense, quiet, smooth, fast, and soon the batteries will be stellar to make it happen”
No. The science doesn’t support that, and neither does traffic. Only the top of the line electrics have amazing speed, the rest are just average acceleration.
You’re getting caught up in the hype.
Speculation on my part, ( note I had access to marvelous plug-in Hybrid for a year and enjoyed it in full E mode more so than under ICE power ) is that the consumer will like it better ( yes charge time is the issue), and it is a no brainer for the manufacturers. On the Manufacturers, they will have vendors galore for batteries, harnesses, motors, etc and not umpteen hrs of engine development and testing programs and then going for EPA certification for emissions. For engines and transmissions think billions or it was in the 90's, they may have streamlined the processes, however it is a huge financial nut to crack. Will cars get cheaper because it? Probably not, maybe it will stave of price increases, who knows.
It’s amazing what passed for fashion, style and music in the 70s.
Mid engine anything. I believe the Pontiac Fiero was the only production mid engine American car ever made. They should have ironed out the bugs the Fiero had and kept producing it. I think it could have been a fine car.
Rather a waste of time.
Sorry—— Chevy Camaro & TRANS-AM racing go hand in hand.
Not fair to saddle a fine car with the ID of an ‘electric’ vehicle.
Besides——too many of the Eco freaks yell all the time about how vulnerable our power system is.
Do think their Electric vehicles use a different power grid???? None of them can connect the dots.
I had an ‘84 Fiero. Small, but a blast to drive - great handling. Super clutch - took a LOT to press that sucker in. Stereo speakers in the headrest and removable sunroof.
Then what the heck was all that sloshing under her??
It wasn’t gas........................
Some of the music was great, some of it sucked.
*cough* Disco. *cough*
At least we didn't have rap & hip-hop back then, but we did have Angels Flight jeans!
It coulda been a contender...
