Not a big distinction to me. Burglary assumes you have entered premises and may involve property theft.

Robbery requires taking of property not necessarily entering the owner’s premises.

To me, both are prepared to do violence. I assume State laws vary.

Here’s the FBI Uniform Reporting list:

The descending order of UCR violent crimes are murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault, followed by the property crimes of burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft.

Notice that both robbery and burglary are violent crimes, but robbery is considered more violent than burglary.
