NY Times Editorial: If Trump has nothing illegal or untoward to hide, why does he care about the [attorney-client] privilege in the first place?
There isnt much of a pretense anymore that the Mueller investigation is about alleged Russian campaign collusion.
Maybe it started out about collusion, but it veered off course within a couple of months, when Mueller decided that Paul Manafort needed to be investigated for conduct many years ago having nothing to do with the campaign, or even Russia. Rod Rosenstein created the paperwork in early August 2017 to retroactively expand Muellers investigation and justify Mueller conduct that already had taken place.
The raid on Trump personal attorney Michael Cohens law office by the U.S. Attorneys office in the Southern District of New York, was at the referral of Mueller, and signed off by Rosenstein. That raid was a frontal assault on Trumps business and personal history.
If reporting is accurate, the records seized concerned not just payments to Stormy Daniels, but also the Access Hollywood tape revealed during the campaign. Its fair to assume that a wide range of records going beyond those salacious topics were grabbed by

"Mr. Trump has spent his career in the company of developers and celebrities, and also of grifters, cons, sharks, goons and crooks. He cuts corners, he lies, he cheats, he brags about it, and for the most part, hes gotten away with it, protected by threats of litigation, hush money and his own bravado. Those methods may be proving to have their limits when they are applied from the Oval Office. Though Republican leaders in Congress still keep a cowardly silence, Mr. Trump now has real reason to be afraid."
Anybody that does business in NYC has to deal with all the democrat goons and extortion.
Amazing, they are actually pushing everything about the Clintons onto Trump.
Projection. It’s the Democrat way.
If you’re innocent, why do you care if the cops search your home?
If Hispanics have nothing to hide why fear ID checks by ICE? If blacks have nothing to hide why fear stop and frisk? If gays have nothing to hide why fear mandatory AIDS tests? (Just hitting some sacred cows.)
So if the Mueller investigation is not about Russian campaign collusion, what is it about?
If Hillary had nothing to hide why destroy servers and even go so far as to physically smash blackberries?
If the Law is coming for Trump as a tool of oppression wielded by the deep state to overturn the election, then it time that an enraged populace to come for Mueller and his co-conspirators. A modern equivalent of a peoples’ militia would be in order.
Amazing, isn’t it? It’s like saying if you’re not doing anything wrong, why worry if your every action in your home is recorded, or all your phone conversations listened to? If you’re not a criminal, why not register your gun?
“If Trump has nothing illegal or untoward to hide, why does he care about the [attorney-client] privilege in the first place?”

“WOW!, just WOW!”

Com’n on now, they’re just being fair.
Remember when the had the same headline about how if Obama had nothing to hide, he’d release all the records from hi s past? Or how about the NYT headline saying that if Hillary had nothing to hide, why did she wipe her server and smash her smartphones?
For a laugh, picture every editor and reporter at the NYT running around as if their hair was on fire, if this had been done to Obama.
Now that Dershowitz sat down with Trump, will Rosenstein be recused? That allows Trump to appoint a new Mueller overseer.
The pretense is over that the Mueller investigation is still about Russian campaign collusion,>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
This is why both Rosenstein and Mueller need to be fired forthwith.
Let the constitutional crisis be created and take it to SCOTUS.
The people elected Trump, not Mueller , to run the country.
More is coming the deep state’s way.
The person or persons who wrote this line deserves to be beaten to death in public.
From the start, it was and still is all about how to take down a president.
Yep.
