I’ve known several people who entered the Naval Aviation program. I’ve known a bunch who went to Air Force flight training.
Both programs are brutal and they are merit based. I only knew one classmate who failed out of the USAF training.
Of the three Naval Aviator trainees I knew, only one graduated.
ALL of them have told me that it was insane training. And if your heart was not in 100%, 100% of the time...you would not make it.
So, when the guy said that he was not great in all disciplines...he admitting that he wasn’t good enough.
Isn’t it amazing? He ADMITS he “struggled” in some disciplines (i.e. he wasn’t good enough), then screams RACISM.
Almost every high school athlete comes to the realization he or she isn’t going to win a scholarship on a D1 team. Then almost every college D1 athlete comes to realize that he or she isn’t going to be drafted by a pro team. Then a lot of those athletes who are drafted by the pros languish on a farm club for years before realizing the “call” is never going to come. Life is brutal and competition is fierce for everything.
Both programs are brutal and they are merit based.
Mostly.
I can't speak for the Navy, but if you are USAF and have: A high ranking parent (military or DOD civilian), are a woman, or are a minority, you WILL get preferential treatment during training.
Which makes this guys complaints a complete joke. The truth is that he NEVER would have been accepted for training had he been white.
