Since 9-11 and the patriot act I’ve known we have no privacy, I’ve known about the data mining for years, cause I have sold and bought advertising since the 80’s, back then you would buy mailing and phone lists based on customer demographic info now we use oracle datacloud for targeting info.

Exactly.

It’s like what I’ve posted a number of times. A tool can be used for good or for evil.

The sad pattern that I’ve noticed over the years is that (IMO) it’s most often good people who develop tools. It’s also most often that evil (or at least unscrupulous) people find ways to wrest control of those tools away from the real developers and/or find ways to use them for evil (or at least dubious) purposes.
