Between the cell phones, smart tvs, cars and all of it there may be no escape. :(

Move out of the urban areas. In the boonies, we have only a few cell towers and low bandwidth. They have promised fiber for decades. Can’t imagine how long it would take to retrofit the roads for smart cars. Don’t buy smart appliances. If everything is *smart*, learn how to make them dumb. I’ve been doing that to some degree with washing machines for several years. For now, many disabling hacks are on YT. Make friends with the repairman. He is not allowed to change the parameters of an appliance, but he can show you the innards and tell you what needs to be done, if it can be done. Learn to repair analog machines. Consider what machines you need and ignore ones you can get by without.
Refuse the poisoned carrots. Go analog. How vital is portability, anyway? If you must have a smart anything, disable what you can and limit usage. WE control the market because WE ARE the market.
.
Roper brand in appliances are analog and repairable (I’ve repaired two dryers and a washer, and a dishwasher), and are often on the ‘used appliances’ list. Buy one, open it up, and see just how simple these things really are! Older model Whirlpool fridges are repairable and last much longer than the new ‘on demand’ induction ditties.
I don’t want smart cars and appliances!
Our cars are about 20 years old.
I’d looooove to move to the boonies.
A few more years unless we need government license to move by then.
Lord have mercy things are moving quickly.
Rebuild older vehicles.
