The crash occurred on February 12, 2009 at 22:17 Eastern Time. Its the only thing that fits the given data. The aircraft, a Bombadier Dash-8 Q400 entered an aerodynamic stall from which it did not recover and crashed into a house in Clarence Center, New York, killing all 49 passengers and crew on board, as well as one person inside the house. - Alison Des Forges of Buffalo, who was senior advised for Human Rights Watch's Africa division. Considered one of the world's leading experts on the genocide in Rwanda, Des Forges testified at 11 trials at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda as an expert witness. She was named a MacArthur Fellow in 1999. Des Forges was returning home to Buffalo after a trip to Europe, where she had briefed diplomats on the situation in Rwanda and Africa's Great Lakes region.
