I don't trust Levin, but when he's right, he's right. Similar with Limbaugh, he can be right on the money, or off on some weird (fake/false) tangent.

Levin's position on Cruz's being a NBC shocked me. The case law is quite clear, and best I can tell, Levin intentionally misrepresented it (Rogers v. Bellei). Lately he's been pretty much on target with the Mueller fiasco. Although I disagree with his take of Sessions, I don;t thing it is unreasonable for him to take the position he does.

What is an NBC? No one but Cruz?

Also, I learned that in 2016 Levin’s then fiancé had a son who was on the Cruz campaign team, so I think that certainly colored his view of things. IIRC, Levin keeps his personal life pretty close to the vest and it was not widespread public knowledge that he was no longer married to his first(?) wife.
